Textfold

Privacy Policy

The short version: Textfold collects nothing. Here's the slightly longer version.

Effective date: July 6, 2026

Textfold does not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any data about you. No analytics, no tracking, no accounts, no crash reporters, no third-party SDKs. Its App Store privacy label is "Data Not Collected" — and this page is the whole policy.

Your files stay on your Mac

Textfold is a plain-text editor. The documents you open and edit are read from and written to your own storage (or your own iCloud Drive, if you choose to keep files there). Textfold never uploads, copies, indexes, or transmits your files anywhere. There is no server side to this app.

Textfold runs inside Apple's App Sandbox, which means the operating system itself restricts the app to the files you explicitly open or save.

No analytics, no tracking, no third parties

The app makes no network connections except one, described below.

Purchases (the one network call)

Textfold Pro is an optional one-time purchase made through Apple's App Store using Apple's StoreKit framework. When you buy or restore Pro, the transaction is handled entirely by Apple on Apple's servers, under Apple's privacy policy.

We never see or receive your name, email address, Apple ID, payment details, or any other personal information from a purchase. Apple only tells the app, on your device, whether Pro is unlocked.

Children

Because Textfold collects no data from anyone, it collects no data from children either.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of Textfold ever changes any of the above — which we do not plan to — we will update this page, change the effective date at the top, and note it in the app's release notes before the change takes effect.
