Frequently asked questions

Does the timer keep running if I lock my phone or switch apps?

Yes. The countdown is anchored to the clock, not to the app being open. Lock your phone, switch apps, even restart the phone — when you come back, your session is exactly where it should be, and a notification tells you when time is up.

I don't get a notification when a session ends.

Check Settings → Apps → Notifications → Focumo on your iPhone and make sure notifications are allowed. Inside Focumo, also check that "Session-end alerts" is on under Settings → Notifications. Focus modes (like Do Not Disturb) can silence alerts too.

How do tasks and 🍅 estimates work?

Add a task in the Tasks tab and give it an estimate (how many 25-minute sessions you think it needs). Tap a task to make it active — every focus session you complete counts one 🍅 toward it, and the timer shows your progress, like 🍅 2/4.

Can I change the session and break lengths?

Yes — Settings → Durations. Focus, short break, long break, and the number of sessions before a long break are all adjustable, free.

Where is the countdown on my Lock Screen?

Focumo starts a Live Activity when a session begins, so the countdown appears on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. If you don't see it, check Settings → Apps → Focumo → Live Activities on your iPhone.

Which languages does Focumo speak?

English, தமிழ் (Tamil), العربية (Arabic, with full right-to-left layout), 中文（简体）(Simplified Chinese), हिन्दी (Hindi), Español, and Français. You can override the system language in Settings → Language inside the app.

How do I delete my data?

Everything lives on your device, so deleting the app deletes all of it — tasks, sessions, stats, and settings. Nothing is stored anywhere else. See the privacy policy.

Is Focumo really free? Are there ads?

Version 1 is completely free — every feature, no ads, no subscription, no account. A one-time "Pro" purchase may arrive in a future version, but nothing you use today gets taken away.
