Privacy Policy

The short version: Filehaven collects no data. Your browsing history and your files stay on your device.

What we collect

Nothing. Filehaven has no accounts, no analytics, no tracking, no advertising identifiers, and no third-party SDKs of any kind. We operate no servers and receive no information about you or your usage.

Your browsing

Web pages you visit are loaded directly by your device from the sites themselves. Filehaven does not proxy, intercept, inspect, or decrypt that traffic. History, bookmarks, cookies, and cache are stored locally on your device using Apple's standard WebKit storage, and are never transmitted to us.

Addresses and page titles are never written to system logs. Private tabs use a separate non-persistent store: nothing from them is saved, and everything is discarded when the tab closes. You can erase history, cookies, and cache at any time from Settings → Clear browsing data.

Your searches

Searches typed in the address bar go to the search engine you selected in Settings, and are subject to that engine's privacy policy. Filehaven adds nothing to those requests and keeps no record of them beyond your local history.

Site icons

Icons shown on the start page and in the tab switcher are fetched only from each site's own address, over a connection that keeps no cache on disk. No third-party icon service or search-suggestion service is used, so no other company learns which sites you keep.

Your files

Downloads and imported files are written to Filehaven's own folder on your device. They are never uploaded anywhere, never scanned, and never seen by anyone but you. Downloads transfer directly from the site you chose to your device. Playing a downloaded song or video uses the built-in player, which reads only local files and makes no network request of its own.

Wi-Fi Transfer

Wi-Fi Transfer is off unless you switch it on, and it switches itself off again shortly after Filehaven leaves the screen. While it is on, Filehaven answers requests from other devices on your local network and nothing more — it never reaches out to the internet, and no file leaves your device unless a browser on your network asks for it and passes the PIN shown on screen.

The PIN is generated fresh every time you switch the feature on and is only ever held in memory. The web page can browse, download, and — with Pro — upload; it can never delete, rename, or move anything. Transfers are listed on that screen while the app is open and are kept in memory only: nothing about them is written to disk or to the system log. The connection is plain HTTP on your own network, so use it on networks you trust rather than public Wi-Fi.

Face ID

If you enable the Pro Files lock, authentication is handled by Apple's LocalAuthentication framework. Filehaven only receives a success or failure result — it never has access to your face data, fingerprint, or passcode, and none of that information leaves your device.

Purchases

The Filehaven Pro unlock is processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. Apple's handling of that transaction is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Third parties

Filehaven ships with zero third-party libraries. The only external parties involved are the websites you choose to visit, the search engine you select, and Apple for purchases — each governed by their own policies, not ours.

Children

Filehaven collects no personal information from anyone, including children. It is a web browser, so it can reach the open internet; parents can restrict web content and purchases with iOS Screen Time.

Deleting your data

Because everything is stored locally, deleting the app removes all of it — files, history, and settings. There is nothing on our side to request or erase.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of the app ever changes any of the above, this page will be updated before that version ships, with the change noted here.
